Abstract
Tourism industry in Bali has fostered the Balinese people to willy-nilly get involved in an essential logic of capitalism, namely commodification. Concerning both natural and cultural resources, the commodification has so far been backed up by the government’s policy on tourism in which local communities should actually be involved in the mainstream of sustainable tourism.
